ECCC 2019: F4F Mario and Yoshi Statue Hi-Res Photos & Video!

Getting to hang out at and help with the First 4 Figures booth at Emerald City Comic Con 2019 last week was one of the great experiences of my life (don’t judge me), but I’m home now and ready for the return of the F4F Q&A! But before this week’s show begins, let’s take a look at some in-person hi-res photos of a piece that went up for sale two weeks back: the F4F Mario and Yoshi Definitive Edition statue that’s up for Validation today!

ECCC 2019 Mario on Yoshi Statue First 4 FiguresFirst4Figures had some amazing reveals at ECCC 2019 (including All Might and the Classic Sonic PVC), but the real star of the show and marquee act was unquestionably one of F4F’s biggest statement pieces ever: the Nintendo Mario on Yoshi Statue!

First4Figures Mario Yoshi Statue Emerald City Comic Con 2019I knew intellectually going into the show how big this duo was, but nothing could prepare me for the massive centerpiece that is the Definitive Edition Mario on Yoshi!

Those thinking that the DE will just slide onto a standard bookcase are going to be sorely mistaken—this is one immense plumber and dinosaur duo! Frankly, it’s shocking that First 4 Figures has found a way to price this masterpiece at $674.99.

F4F Mario and Yoshi Statue Emerald City Comic Con 2019While not on display at the show, I think the Exclusive Edition Mario on Yoshi Statue will be the right choice for many collectors. The DE base is one solid piece that’s not modular, so those tight on space (like me!) will be well-served with the EX version.

The movable flowers, magnetic Yoshi egg and layered base add a lot of personality to this piece, and I think this is an instance where those who splurge and make extra space for this beast are going to be very glad that they did.

  1. I will get the DE, But I can easily see why someone would want the smaller base, however when you put Bowser in the picture things are right on scale really

  2. Yep, got the DE and just validated. I do wish pieces of the base were movable. Maybe the center square could pull out or something. After the Spyro and Crash backdrops I think Mario/Yoshi would have looked great with one as well.

    I had to make special room for Kratos on the throne and my Geralt statue. With Mario and the crystal dragon I may have to build on a whole new room.
