F4F QA 99 Chocks Staring at ConkerAnnouncements and The Week in Review:

  • F4F does Christmas in #F4FTime, and in #F4FTime, Christmas is on December 28th for Q&A #100!
  • “Will there be Christmas sneaks next stream? Maybe yes, maybe no!”
  • Mimic Validation occurs during this Q&A for lowest available numbers
  • “Where is everyone’s rallying for that [the Metroid Prime 3 Gunship?]”
  • Cowboy Bebop Spike EXCLUSIVE statue has now gone to Wait List! If you didn’t place your order–now’s the time to join the WL!
  • Shovel Knight Player 2 pre-orders open until January 4th
  • Phoenix Wright EX pre-orders still open as well–perhaps someone is waiting to snag #1000, the last piece in the run…?
  • Alphonse, Psycho Mantis, Spyro PVC, Warp Star Kirby and Guts EX are also all still up for order for now
  • Conker’s Bad Fur Day Conker on Throne Statue Goes Up for Order Next Week!
  • “Episode 100: Do. Not. Miss it!”
  • Ordering information, specs and details for Conker will all occur next week with pre-orders opening following the show next week!
  • “[Conker] looks like he just walked out of the intro scene. I’m really happy with how he came out.”
  • Alex has a vision where F4F has a sprawling studio and he can do his DEE-NIED dance in all its glory where viewers can see all of him dancing, followed by streaming gaming matches with staff and maybe even club members
  • The Search For the New Studio: Chocks and Ting have come to a point where they’ve gotten past quite a lot of hurdles and began looking for places with a larger space; found the place that they want this week and signed the contract–hopefully will have the keys on Monday to start planning for setup! Will be used for Audio-Visual purposes such as unboxings and livestreams, whereas the current offices used for those things will be used for logistics.
  • F4F has overcome the search for more space, and hopefully things will start rolling in the new year! New place is twice the size and with great windows for creating natural light for a studio feel! Alex is looking forward to it!
  • Banjo-Kazooie and Conker do not share numbers–they’re not part of the same line, even though they’re both Rare characters/statues
  • Alex is proud that his son Harvey is old enough to play Assassin’s Creed Black Flag all on his own and kill people now
  • There will be a Dark Souls Trilogy giveaway on the F4F Blog starting next week (for US fans only)–but don’t worry, Chock is working something out for fans in the rest of the world too! 10 copies available beginning on Christmas Eve.
  • Mimic Signature Edition is only available until Saturday Morning December 22nd at 11AM EST
  • Alex would love to do Toothless from How To Train Your Dragon
  • F4F Fans should check out The In-Betweeners on Netflix
  • Crash resin is finally out in Australia/Asia region! However, not many of the guinea pigs in AUS/Asia have received him yet, as there are 2-3 months left to go on the payment plan for Crash EX, so few people have fully paid for him and are now receiving him! All the people who have received resin Crash so far have been happy with him, but it seems like a bit of a gamble to send them all out to the rest of the world based on such a small sample size of data.
  • It’ll be interesting to see how many people authenticate Ornstein and then buy Mimic, as only those who purchase Ornstein and authenticate him will retain their numbers for Mimic–anyone who didn’t buy Ornstein forfeits their low number in the Dark Souls line (with those numbers going up for grabs to Mimic buyers)
  • MIMIC VALIDATION RESULTS:
  • Sub-150 Mimic Numbers: 2 Minutes and 3 Seconds after Validation began and under
  • Sub-100 Mimic Numbers: 40.5 Seconds after Validation began and under
  • Sub-50 Mimic Numbers: 36.9 Seconds after Validation began and under
  • This is the last Validation of 2018, since Conker’s will be on the first Friday of 2019. Alex is much happier that these Validations are occurring now as part of the Friday Q&A and not on their own day of the week anymore.
  • Capcom has given Mega Man PVC approval to move to the next stage of development for the new PVC/resin statues; looking good and moving forward to the physical
  • Varia Suit Samus turning out very very nicely; still have to do the Varia Suit Samus Drop Test
  • Spike is on track to finish way ahead of schedule after finishing Crash early; will be doing Warp Star Kirby and Crystal Dragons afterwards
  • “Plush is something I’m going to be looking at in 2019. Oh, it’s only a week away…? …Fuck.” — Alex Davis, F4F CEO
  • Black, Green, Red and Blue varieties of F4F Packing Tape have now been created to use to differentiate between different things!
  • First 4 Figures is growing in a way that’s really exciting–super exciting; it’s quite scary and there’s a lot of pressure involved with that, but you can’t evolve without risk
  • On the possible need for more F4F CS specialists: “That implies that we’re expanding… or there’s just a shitload of production problems.”
  • Staggering to Alex that nearly 75% of the members in the F4F OCC Facebook Group are collectors who never purchased high-end resin statues before First 4 Figures; this is why it’s great to have affordable PVCs to create awareness and to offer more expensive DEs for collectors who want to pay a bit more for a bit more

Temptation Thursday TT Polls and King of the Ring III:

  • Strider TT #131: 148 Votes, 120 ‘No’, 28 ‘Yes’
  • Celeste TT #132: 150 Votes, 101 ‘No’, 49 ‘Yes’
  • TT #133: Jo Jo’s Bizarre Adventure Next Week!
  • KOTR III: Defer all questions to Nanase. He’ll answer every single one of them.
  • 12,000 Rewards Points are up for grabs in King of the Ring III! 4,000 Reward Points are guaranteed to the winner, if there’s two winners then they each get 8,000 Reward Points, and if there’s only one winner, then all 12,000 Rewards Points will be theirs!
  • Correctly choosing the entire King of the Ring brackets is difficult, but not impossible.
  • There are some absolutely horrible matchups in the first round of KOTR III because Alex wants to wipe out at least 50% of entrants in the first round.
  • This week’s hashtag is #F4FConker for a chance to win 500 Rewards Points chosen at random next week!

F4F QA 99 Chocks LaughingThe Q&A!:

  • Next anime pre-order will be Jet Black
  • F4F would do both resin and TF PVCs for the same line
  • Factory list update
  • It’s going to be longer than January before a new Zelda sneak peek
  • Nothing to report on gift cards, unfortunately
  • Nothing to say about Xenoblade
  • Alex and Chocks have not seen Devilman Crybaby
  • Stages in Development Cycle: 2-D Concept, 3-D Concept, 3-D Design, Physical Printing, Duplication, Making a Tooling Master, Painting Stage, Licensor Approval, Factory Counter Sample, Factory Pre-Production Samples, Final Production Pieces, Alex Approval, Packing and Shipping
  • Cracking the concept is both the hardest stage and the stage Alex enjoys the most; also takes the most time
  • Average at least a year concept to completing development
  • Spyro resin was super fast from concept to completed development
  • Alex doesn’t know what 1kg of resin vs. clear resin costs, but knows clear resin is more expensive
  • Warp Star Kirby will be starting production soon–a one-week notice will be given for collectors to get in their final orders
  • Maybe a new Bowser video could be posted in the club this weekend
  • Would fans buy Kamina with the knowledge that Simon and Yoko would never be made?
  • MHA and Persona 5? “I know absolutely nothing.” –Alex Davis
  • Alex has kind of given up on the Yakuza Red Gate for now–could be made as a companion piece later on
  • Yakuza Kiryu Kickstarter-based pre-order planned
  • Alex hasn’t looked at the sales for Alphonse in ages
  • Wait List orders are cancelled and deposits refunded when no more wait lists will be converted
  • No news on Amaterasu Life Size Bust; haven’t checked recently
  • Fan interest in Celeste piqued by the Game Awards, but the TT hasn’t done so well thus far
  • Jake Meyer is very, very exemplary; has promised that he’ll be there watching the 100th episode of the Q&A next week; a great example of how to do it right and make the good list
  • Boom8 Knuckles and Tails shipping early 2019
  • If a Mipha statue would be made, it wouldn’t be the artist-made unofficial model circulating around
  • Wait List status is on the list to be added to the website, but not high on the list
  • Getting to the point where Guts is almost set for production to begin rolling; will go through and discuss any changes when the time comes
  • License Alex would love to have the most but will likely never get: Pokemon
  • If everything goes accordingly, Crash Team Racing Crash in Kart statue will be in both PVC and resin forms
  • Alex hasn’t checked Phoenix Wright sales recently
  • Cowboy Bebop sequence is liquid; Ed & Ein could leapfrog Faye for pre-order
  • Translucent/Ghost Aku Aku Mask? “Companion Pieces, bay-bee!”
  • [Mega Man] Zero? “The dream is not dead.”
  • Zero way Alex would say on a random Q&A if the Yu-Gi-Oh license had been acquired
  • Lots of changes to Guts being wrapped up now prior to production beginning
  • Skull Knight is based on the anime and can’t be changed to manga–licenses are licenses
  • Skull Knight is deep in the painting stage now
  • 2019 is going to be an evolution of the F4F Business Model involving Partnerships, PVCs, Plush, more Resins, the Evolution of the OCC and more!
  • Troy Blair Questions:
  • 1.) Alex can you give us a solid number of statues resin/pvc of the legend of zelda series that will be up for preorder next year? “No.”
  • 2.)chockles do you know any legend of zelda secret statues that are coming up that have not been announced yet? [No answer]
  • 3.) Will we ever get a guardian statue to go with our pvc link? “Would have to be in resin because of the scale.”
  • 4.) Do you guys know anything about the next legend of zelda project that’s in works at nintendo? “Nope.”
  • 5.) What’s one thing you want for Christmas this year alex/chockles? “I would love there to be no more people on my list. Would love everyone to all be friends again. Time to reflect, reach out to people, and let people reach out to you.” — Alex
  • 6.) Since the previous release of mimics chest could you guys see yourselfs doing a prop chest from the legend of zelda series? “Yeah–it’d be nice. Maybe a heart container or something like that.”
  • 7.) can we expect any surprise sneak peaks for this Christmas have we been good enough for it? “Nope–nothing Zelda.”
  • 8.) What would be your next ocarina of time statue that you would want to do alex/chockles? “Link on Epona fo’shoorz!”
  • F4F’s license with Nintendo has evolved over the years; Alex doesn’t even remember what the original Metroid license was for–doesn’t remember if the license was specifically for Metroid Prime to begin with; both parties work together to find a happy medium–very flexible depending upon what Nintendo wants to focus on during a contract period
  • Absolutely have considered life-size Samus helmets; absolutely possible
  • More Life-Size Busts are coming; “excited about that”
  • No idea when the next Dark Souls teaser after Nito will be shown
  • When Meta-Ridley goes up for PO, can discuss future Metroid possibilities a little bit more
  • Mini Aku Aku Masks PO will be Q1 2019 Pre-Order
  • No King of the Cosmos Sneak Peek next week. =P
  • No update on Banjo PVCs and Minis for right now
  • Chock’s favorite factory is a chocolate factory
  • Not doing the Christmas stream at Alex’s house this year, so no seeing the family dog this year
  • Ornstein will probably be shipped in Q2 2019
  • Bayonetta statue PO in 2019? “Hopefully.”
  • Life Size Snake Bust Still a Thing? “Possibly.”
  • Gift cards may not make it this year; Alex isn’t happy about that
  • Conker’s Bad Fur Day pre-order next week: “It better not be a Bad Fur-riday!” -Chocks
  • Not sure if there will be any Q&A at all next week, or if it will be a fixed amount of Q&A, since there’s so much to go through next week for Q&A #100
