F4F Samurai Champloo Mugen Statue Released & Photos!

Delays are a fact of life in the statue collecting world, as regardless of what company you order your statues from, the majority of statues tend to be delayed somewhat. But there are certainly exceptions to that rule, and one of them has just begun arriving! The F4F Samuai Champloo Mugen Statue was scheduled for a release in Q2 2018, and it arrived just in the nick of time! How’d it turn out, and should you hop on the Wait List for Mugen? Let’s take a look…

First4Figures Samurai Champloo Mugen Statue ReviewWhen I heard that the first batch of First 4 Figures Mugen statues had started arriving in Canada, I was actually pretty shocked. Sure, the Shipping Calendar on the website had said that might happen for a while, but could a statue that just went up for pre-order in August 2017 really be shipping out to customers just 10 months later?!

It looks like Mugen is in fact the exception to the rule, as the second-ever First4Figures anime statue has in fact begun to be received by those in Canada who ordered it!

First 4 Figures Mugen Statue BoxI could give me impressions of the statue based off of photos, but how about I go straight to a source who actually has it in-hand instead…? Rob Newberry of the First 4 Figures Official Collector’s Club on Facebook received his Mugen Exclusive Version statue last week, and was nice enough to send over his thoughts on the statue and also some photos of it to share…

Shading on Back of Mugen Samurai Champloo First4Figures Statue“This is my first F4F piece and I had concerns as this is such a complicated piece with lots of places where things could go wrong. The entire piece is dynamic–that’s the best way I can describe it–but F4F has nailed this piece and it feels like it has just jumped off the screen. The piece has so much implied movement and kinetic energy in the sculpt–the character of Mugen has been captured perfectly with both heads and the paint is flawless with not a single blemish, flaw or scuff anywhere.

Mugen EX Statue Head First4FiguresThe quality is perfect. Every single piece of hair is intact and the paint is flawless. Swords are HEAVY!

First 4 Figures Mugen Base Close-UpAs a fan of the series, I was all-in on this when it was announced, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the line looks like.

F4F Samurai Champloo Mugen Statue ReleasedI have no negative feedback on the piece at all…but I have a small tip: the piece should be displayed at eye level if you want to see the face at all, so place it higher up in a cabinet for sure. Displaying it any lower will mean you miss out on the face–which is one of the most important parts of the display.”

Overhead View of First 4 Figures Samurai Champloo StatueMy first F4F piece and it didn’t disappoint one bit. He’s hard to photograph because the pose is so dynamic–but F4F has nailed it here. The details are outstanding. Still trying to figure out where all these swords go! Thanks so much…this totally made my day.”

F4F Mugen Statue Released PhotosThanks so much for your review and photos of the Mugen statue, Rob! I was a Day One pre-order for him to begin with–but if I hadn’t been, your shots would have convinced me! Now I’m doubly looking forward to my own Mugen arriving so that I can write my own knowledgeable full review of him!

Also, congratulations to Johnny De Jesus of the F4F OCC, who won our first giveaway here on GTN for a Samurai Champloo Blu Ray set! Keep fighting the good fight for First 4 Figures to #FinishTheLine, Champloo fans!
