First 4 Figures is oftentimes among the fastest in the business at producing and releasing statues after pre-orders close, but sometimes certain ones take a wee bit longer. Such is the case with the Dark Souls Solaire Statue, which finally began arriving this week after orders closed way back in April 2017! There’s still time to get on the Solaire Exclusive off the Wait List: Is he worth it? Let’s see how he turned out…
Solaire of Astora is a legendary character among Dark Souls fans and perhaps the most recognizable character amongs fandom, so it was no surprise to see him featured as one of F4F’s first three Dark Souls resin statues put up for sale.
Because he was in line at the factory behind thousands of Majora’s Mask and Spyro the Dragon orders that got delayed, Solaire ended up getting delayed himself as well. But he’s finally complete and ready to be summoned into around 2,000 collectors’ homes in various editions!
As usual, the interior styrofoam inside of the artbox has a fun image of the statue molded into it. I only see these for a minute when I’m opening up my statues, but I always get a big smile seeing them for that brief period.
Those who ordered on Day One also get an extra, signed Alex Davis art card for their Solaire statue. I think these add an extra touch of class, and I’m looking forward to the day when official card holders will (hopefully) be available to display all these extra art cards on.

Jake Graham Tolhurst: “There are my first F4F statues and they did not disappoint. I did have concerns after seeing how bad the shipping box got handled by the postal/courier services, but fortunately mine can in perfect condition (and is now a play house for my daughter! Haha).”
Lincoln Rayson:
“Solaire Regular Edition arrived today and I couldn’t be more in love. I missed my chance to grab the exclusive, but I’m not disappointed at all! It’s a very high standard, I especially like the battle marks on his legs as well as the subtle rusting on his chain mail. I love it, my first resin so can’t comment as to compared to other pieces.”
“The longer I look at it, the more details I notice–just subtle things that make it better such as creases in the chain mail around the legs and arms and seams in his clothing. The base is wonderful too. My F4F collection is growing slowly, with more on the way.”
Dylan Zuccala: “Packaged well! All perfect! Can’t wait to get the batteries to see it light up!”
Unfortunately, one mishap did occur with the first shipment of Solaire statues that went out to Australia/Asia: due to a miscommunication, these Solaires were shipped without the extra sheath with sword piece inserted (the piece that’s the default with the regular edition).
Thankfully, First4Figures CEO Alex Davis rapidly responded to the issue in the First 4 Figures Official Collectors Club, confirming within hours that the affected customers in that region would receive the missing piece separately, and that collectors in the rest of the world would receive it packaged with their statue without any additional delays.

While the Solaire EX, Praise the Sun Solaire and Jolly Cooperation Combo Pack are all on Wait List right now, there’s still a solid chance of Wait Listed orders for the Warrior of Sunlight to covert if you join the Wait List now. I’ve yet to see a single dissatisfied collector who’s received this statue, so it’s definitely looking like another Dark Souls hit for F4F!
