It’s a bittersweet Friday for First 4 Figures fans, as while we’re all thrilled about F4F making another grandiose appearance at GamesCom 2018, it comes at the sad cost of there not being a weekly Q&A livestream (for only the fourth time since the Q&A’s inception). But hey—F4F revealed quite a few new products at the show, so no Q&A to recap? No problem! Time for the (hopefully first annual) First 4 Figures GamesCom Reveals Recap, spotlighting the new Amaterasu, Spyro, Solid Snake and Ornstein PVCs and more!
While CEO Alex Davis gave us the expectation of at least four new PVC statues being revealed at the 2018 GamesCom this week, F4F went all-out with 8 new pieces (plus exclusive versions!) being revealed at the show. And thanks to the magic of the First 4 Figures Official Facebook Collector’s Club, we all got a video preview of every one of the newly revealed items!
Although three of the eight reveals are “just” colorways variants of each other, all of them are welcome additions. Let’s run through the list of reveals, with links outward to my articles summarizing all of the known information for each…
Spyro the Dragon PVC (and Exclusive Edition with Sparx!)
With the resin Spyro statue based on the original game Wait Listed with a Wait List a mile long, there’s still a huge demand for the little purple dragon to be met. Luckily, this Reignited Trilogy Spyro PVC will be there to help satiate that appetite!
And for fans who were disappointed that Spyro’s dragonfly buddy didn’t make the cut in resin form with the resin statue, the $99.99 Exclusive Spyro will come with a little Sparx figure attached to his wing! Far and away this is the most unique and interesting EX we’ve seen for an F4F PVC to-date.

Okami Amaterasu PVC
Voted the favorite reveal of GamesCom 2018 by the F4FOCC Facebook Group, Amaterasu will be the official second entry in the True Form (TF) PVC series. This is also the one GamesCom statue reveal that I need to circle back and fully preview, but Alex has confirmed that the exclusive version of the Amaterasu PVC will feature a light-up solar reflector and be priced at $99.99. Beautiful doggy!
This particular TF PVC is pretty special, because for the first time ever, this sculpt will be up-sized and sold as a resin 1:4 scale statue down the road (some time after the PVC version goes up for sale). Given how gorgeous the small version is, I can’t wait to see the detail of a larger version of this sculpture!
Dark Souls SD Ornstein
We had already seen teasers of Ornstein SD this summer—and he was confirmed as appearing at GamesCom on last week’s Q&A—so it wasn’t a surprise seeing him unveiled at the show.
That said, he’s quite an attractive piece, and I think Orny fans who don’t have $700+ (after shipping) for the 1:4 Ornstein are going to really love this smaller, cheaper (and vastly cuter) model. The light-up EX is priced at $99.99.

Metal Gear Solid SD Solid Snake (and Stealth Camo Variants)
The second franchise to get the SD treatment from First 4 Figures is Metal Gear Solid! I’d been watching the official Facebook group pretty intently to see how many people guessed Metal Gear SD was in the works, and there were very few (if any) correct guesses, so F4F definitely pulled the wool over folks’ eyes with this one.
As with the large, game-accurate resin version, there will be two website-exclusive variants of Snake in addition to the usual $99.99 light-up EX version: Neon Green Stealth Snake and “Coke Bottle” Stealth Snake. Twin Packs will be available with the EX and either variant, as well as a $269.99 Essential Triple Pack.

“Mini” Aku Aku Mask and “Mini” Golden Aku Aku Mask
The only resin reveals of the show are also the single biggest shocker from it: “Mini” Aku Aku Mask statues in the same scale as the quarter scale-ish (he’s not real, so it’s hard to say exact scale) Crash Bandicoot resin statue! I don’t really like calling these “minis”, as they’re actually about 15” tall and quite a bit larger than any of the PVCs.
I didn’t want to devote the space and funds to a life-Size Golden Aku Aku Mask, but a 1:4 scale one for $214.99 (or $399.99 for the combo pack of both)? Sure, why not? I’m very excited to see what the future will bring for the F4F Companions series (Bat and Wolf Alucard next, please)!

All of these items will be available via the First4Figures website spaced out over the next few months, and I’ll provide full coverage of them as they’re put up for sale with their own trailers, documentaries and more.
….And that’s it for the GamesCom F4F Reveals Recap! I’ll be back next with the return of the longest-running weekly high-end collectibles livestream: the First 4 Figures Q&A #84 with Chocks and Alex! Look forward to it!
