Last week, the newest line of First4Figures statues kicked off when the F4F Castlevania Symphony of the Night Alucard statue went up for order! First previewed at the end of 2014, Alucard is the third overall statue that First4Figures has done for Castlevania, with the first being Dracula from Legacy of Shadow, and the second Simon Belmont from the original NES game. The past year has been a shaky one for me with regards to Pop Culture Shock Collectibles, as I feel like the customer service went down the tubes greatly in 2017. In fact, I ended up cancelling all my orders with PCS. But I had one final statue left on order, and it arrived earlier this month. Although it’s one of the most popular video game franchises of the 21st century (and perhaps of all-time), Kingdom Hearts fans suffered while a relative drizzle of new toys from Square-Enix were all that were released for years. But several other companies obtained the Kingdom Hearts license in 2017 and started putting out new figures, including Diamond Select Toys. Some of the biggest—and most surprising—news going in New York Toy Fair 2018 this month was the announcement that Diamond Select Toys had obtained the license to produce Sonic the Hedgehog figures and statues. Coupled with the upcoming IDW Publishing Sonic the Hedgehog comic book, and it’s clear that a new day is dawning for the Blue Blue!
